How do Digital Certificates Work?
Digital certificates rely on public key cryptography, where a key pair (public and private) acts as a secure lock and key system. The public key is shared openly, and verifies the certificate's authenticity. The private key is kept secret, and ensures only authorized parties can use the certificate.

- Identity Certificates: These certificates are used by applications, VPN, Email, Wi-Fi, web browsers and other enterprise resources for user identification and authentication.
- Certificate Authority (CA) Certificate: A CA certificate is a digital certificate issued by a certified authority. It is used to verify the trust of the certificate presented.
- Chained Certificates: Chained Certificates or Certificate Chain is an ordered list of certificates that is used to verify the trustworthiness of the certificates and sender.
