Noovle is a consulting firm specializing in ICT and Cloud Web services. The company was founded in June 2013 by the merger of Global Base and Scube NewMedia, the main Google for Work partner in Italy and leader in the integration of ICT and Cloud Solutions for companies and public administration. Noovle delivers cloud solutions and integrates innovative technologies for its customers.
One of its customers, Nomination SRL, a jewellery making company based out of Florence wanted Noovle to develop an Android based tablet solution for their agents who are always on the move. Nomination SRL decided to deploy tablets as they offered light weight platform with multiple capabilities, extensive features and connectivity.
Noovle provided the agents of Nomination SRL with a solution using the latest mobile technology and developed a mobile application to help them perform their tasks of processing customer orders, making presentations, door dropping catalogues and constantly keeping in touch with the head office for calls and job notices.
Initially, Nomination was happy with the application Noovle had developed, however there were challenges with the intended usage and support of the tablets. The agents often inadvertently changed the device settings rendering them unfit for use on field. A lot of effort had to be spent on reconfiguring and repairing the devices. With devices open for use and download, mobile bills ran into huge amounts.
With a large number of devices deployed with the agents, Nomination SRL also wanted a way to track and monitor them as a solution for all these challenges.
Noovle decided that the best way to fix issues with settings tampering and unintended usage was to hide them from users. They also decided to counter download of any unauthorized applications on the tablets. Noovle tried numerous products that would allow them to lockdown tablets to only authorized applications and restrict access to device settings.
Noovle started by testing free products, but they were difficult to configure and some did not have the capability to block device settings. Finally, they chose SureLock because it was easy to use, quick to deploy and cost effective. They also deployed SureMDM to keep track of devices, remotely support them and understand the challenges agents face while they are on the move.
SureLock and SureMDM helped Noovle deliver a comprehensive solution to Nomination which aided in cutting down unnecessary costs related to reconfiguration of faulty tablets. Since the deployment of SureLock and SureMDM, software performance and related activities have been stable and well protected. The effort and cost of supporting the devices has significantly come down allowing Nomination to focus on core business activities.
